Aban Gallery Hosts an Interdisciplinary Panel

Architecture and the Question of Representation

While the issue of representation has long served as a foundation for the re-creation of architectural discourse through modes of depiction, its significance extends beyond form or medium. Representation provides architecture with a critical framework — one through which it defines its own relationship to contemporary thought and visual culture.

In this context, the act of representation is not merely a means of depicting or recording space, but rather a system through which architecture defines what it speaks of, to whom it speaks, and how it situates itself within broader cultural narratives. The panel seeks to revisit this notion by examining how contemporary architectural discourse engages with representation across disciplinary boundaries.
